Ohio runs one ratio rule across both home types. Each child care staff member cares for no more than 7 children at one time, and no more than 3 of those may be under two years of age. The house limits then differ: a type B home holds no more than 7 children at any one time, a type A home no more than 14 with the under-two limit applied per staff member. That per-member phrasing means the whole-home infant figure moves with staffing rather than sitting at a fixed number.

Under two is the only numeric band the ratio rule uses. Ohio defines a school-age child by enrolment or eligibility for kindergarten or above and by being under fifteen, not by an age in months.
